15 Utah cases reported this week, total now 43 Fifteen new cases of West Nile virus in humans were reported to the Utah Department of Health this week - the largest number reported in a single week this season - bringing the state's year-to-date total to 43.  A person older than 65 who was infected with the virus also died this week - the first West Nile death this season. Reports of dead birds should be made to local Wildlife Resources office local health departments, local mosquito abatement districts or the Utah Department of Health's Office of Epidemiology (see link above).
